plantagoo Posted March 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Folks, I installed the firmware 2.6.5.1 for the M10-P onto my M10 since it was already sitting on that SD card and the M10 reportet: hey, there is a newer firmware. Let's install this... So I did. Everything works fine (no M10-P specific menus for touch and for the level are visible, the files are flagged as M10 files and so on). The only thing which doesn't work is that the camera won't show any QR code in the WLAN menu. I only found out that I installed the wrong firmware when I was trying to connect my iPhone through the Leica FOTOS app... Question is: Why on earth will an M10 let me install the firmware for the M10-P? How can I fix this by myself? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. scott kirkpatrick Posted March 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2019 See if it will let you install the proper firmware. Then all should be well again.
Probus5002 Posted March 23, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 23, 2019 I have the same problem with a camera that is dated 13 March 2019 on the outer grey box. My 2018 M10 took to the WLAN app perfectly.

No it won't - since the correct firmware for the M10 is 2.6.5.0 and the one installed is 2.6.5.1. @Probus5002 So your 2019 M10 also doesn't show the QR code? Which firmware does it have at the moment? Greetings Erik

UliWer Posted March 26, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 26, 2019 I can only recommend what I already said to plantagoo‘s question in the german Forum: Send a mail to Leica Customer Care and ask if they can explain a way to get back to 2.6.5.0 or that they send you an electronic tool to deinstall the Firmware and explain what to do after you deinstalled it. I am rather sure they will have tools like this.
plantagoo Posted March 28, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted March 28, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) The only solution seems to be to bring/send the camera to the Leica service people. They resetted my M10 back to 2.6.5.0 - now everything works fine. I‘m quite happy to live a 35 minutes drive away from Leitz Park...
Probus5002 Posted April 10, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 10, 2019 Just to follow up on the experience with my M10-P, the outer grey box was dated 13 March 2019. I had stupidly thought the camera would have the latest firmware. I went to the London City Boutique to explain I couldn't use the Leica Fotos app because the QR code did not appear. A firmware update was required so it appears either the old firmware was installed on the camera or it had been manufactured many months ago and was awaiting packaging and dispatch. Strangely, I had to wait three weeks for the MP-10 because there was no black model available in the UK.
drDave Posted August 14, 2020 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) On the same topic of greyed out firmware. Does Leica not allow you to re-install the same version of the firmware? My M10-p randomly freezes during shoots and I thought that it somehow could be corrupted firmware. But I've been trying for an hour, and, no matter where I put the file on the card,, it's always greyed out when I go to the leica menu.
