Thanks Dippy, this is who I’ve gone with. Picked up the 24-90 SL which is the only one they have. 

Will do the job but looks a little silly!

The lens needs its own tripod bush. It does appear to be an impractical combination. The standard zoom designed for the CL is a better solution,  using higher ISOs to compensate for slower initial aperture.

Portraits shoot was today and went well. As I said, would’ve preferred to get my hands on an L mount prime like the 35 TL or 50 SL but tbh I enjoyed the flexibility of this zoom. And the OIS is nice to have on a set-up this heavy!

Side note - i found the zoom action to be unfeasibly stiff, so much so that there was quite a bit of play between the camera & lens when zooming. Not ideal.
