auto iso of M10-D

Hi friends,

I set the iso tab to "Auto", and iso-M as 100 and the max. exposure 1/125 inside the camera through Leica Foto. This setup should have resulted in iso 100 for the pictures when the light is enough.

Taken as an example in this photo, the F=5.6, S=1/350, and the iso=200. It could be F=5.6, S=/175 (which is still faster than the limit 1/125), and iso=100.

This case is often found in the pictures even when the light is enough.

What is the matter with it? Your answer will be appreciated.

I believe the minimum iso the camera chooses in auto-iso is 200. Check your manual, page 48.

BTW, ISO-M is simply a manual setting.  When you turn the knob to M, that is the ISO you get.  So if you happen to want ISO 100, you can set the knob to M.  But of course, there is already a 100 setting, so most of us assign M to call up an extra high setting, such as 12500.

Base ISO on the M is nearer to 200 than 100. Auto-ISO chooses 200 for just that reason. There are other threads discussing this point. By the way: The first firmware on the M10 had ISO 100 as the lowest ISO when choosing Auto-ISO. That was changed to 200 in a newer version of the firmware.
