(the size of a CF card) and Should I buy a cretain Camera Bag or Not?........................ Just fooling aroud folks, and I do not mean to insult any of the above writing thoes threads or answering thoes threads, but I do have have a real question, that I need to figure out before the end of next week. Q- Has anyone used a cable release (standard or electronic) to run the M8 on Continues mode with out having to attend to the M8 after the first frame. Is there a special Leica cable release? Does anyone have any ideas? I no longer have any non-electronic cable releases, all are custom for my Canon's and are mated to specific triggers for shooting. Help! and Thanks Gary Gary I. gravastar Posted July 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2007 I think the only type that would work is an electro mechanical plunger type or maybe a pneumatic plunger depending on the distance involved. To take an exposure the camera has to go through the sequence of meter, hold and then release. Canon remote releases have multiple contacts which operate in sequence. I certainly know you can buy pneumatic air releases that will operate up to about 30 feet, but if I guess what you want it for that won't be long enough by far. Bob. stephengilbert Posted July 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2007 I screwed a standard cable release into my M8, set to "C" mode, and it acts like the shutter release button: a single push of the release exposes a single shot; holding the release button exposes a series. Also, you can hold the plunger in by screwing down on the retaining screw, so you can let go of the cable release after the first exposure. Thanks Bill and everone else who responded> In looking for my cable releases, I rmembered thata friend of mine who borrowed my Speed Graphic (non-Digital) <grin> also has my cable release.
