Ecar Posted February 4, 2019 Share #2  Posted February 4, 2019 Nothing new here, except perhaps better sealing. Leitz used to make a similar one in grey color. I have a couple somewhere: they are open-ended in the middle, so good for transport but not great in the field, as they leave the rear element of the "other lens" exposed to dust. Alternatively, just glueing two lens caps together achieves the same purpose.
105012 Posted February 4, 2019 Share #3  Posted February 4, 2019 I have a couple of these,  mine are not open-ended in the middle. They are quite large and they require the lenses to be in one particular rotational position in order to engage. I painted a red dot to signify the position to save time. In the end, I designed my own much smaller ones that accept the lens in any rotation and 3D printed them.
lct Posted February 4, 2019 Share #4  Posted February 4, 2019 Got and junked one. Not deep enough so that some protruding lenses cannot be mounted on it. I must prefer the Leitz one which is open-ended from this viewpoint.
Peter Zapp Posted February 4, 2019 Share #5 Â Posted February 4, 2019 You carry the body either with mounted lens or with mounted body cap. Hence there should be always a lens or body cap at hand to close the lens coupler. If both lenses' rear elements protrude, they will not fit the coupler, i.e. two wideangle lenses. Leica R versions are closed, because no R lens protrudes into the coupler, except old Superangulons designed for M.
Frase Posted February 4, 2019 Share #6 Â Posted February 4, 2019 I tried one, they make it easier to drop two lenses rather than one,,,,,,, 1

KarimelKrunch Posted September 22, 2021 Share #8  Posted September 22, 2021 Better late than never. I've tried them and they work just fine for me. With my VM 15mm SWH it fits a little awkwardly because the base protrudes more. Easy-peasey if you like carrying a small compact bag or your bag is taller.
