Astropap Posted February 5, 2019 Author Share #21 Â Posted February 5, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for that very detailed response. Â I rented an M10 awhile back and was impressed with how much I could bring up the shadows and make some other adjustments. Â I hope the CL produces similar files. Â I never warmed to the Q. Â The fixed wide lens just wasn't working for me. Â I enjoyed the X Vario more except for having to use the lousy external EVF. Â Both on are their way to Leica Store Miami for a trade. Â Still haven't made any final decisions. Â Amy
Advertisement Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Hi Astropap, Take a look here Trading X Vario and Q for CL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 5, 2019 Share #22 Â Posted February 5, 2019 The CLÂ has a slightly higher photographic dynamic range than the M10, so no problems in pulling up the shadows.

bags27 Posted February 12, 2019 Share #24  Posted February 12, 2019 Update: Thanks so much to everyone for encouraging me. Over the weekend, I bought a barely used CL from Miami Leica (I must have spotted it on line the moment they posted it because they never even got the details up). I talked with Josh there--very helpful--and it should arrive on Thursday. I'm completely besotted with my Q and will certainly keep it (or its eventual successor the Q7, with its 8 tps sensor producing 600 gigabyte files and roasting my coffee beans on demand). Initially, I'm using it with my legacy manual focusing Nikon glass until I get a sense of how it will complement the Q--with its 1/2 sensor, certainly that includes telephoto photography. It's really nice that the cameras share the same batteries. again, thanks, and looking forward to sharing photos with everyone here!
jaapv Posted February 12, 2019 Share #25  Posted February 12, 2019 I fear your Q might be gathering dust  , at least for a while.

I really like the XV and Q and was reluctant to part with them ....... so I ended up with both CL and SL before I let them go. I'd be interested to hear whether you are sticking with them or moving on ......
Astropap Posted February 17, 2019 Author Share #28  Posted February 17, 2019 Thanks for checking in. I bought the CL. I’m really impressed with the image quality. I bought the wide and long zooms but I will probably sell one to help pay for the 35mm prime. Amy 1
