mgrayson3 Posted January 2, 2022 Share #25 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) I have the metabones 67 adapter. It works perfectly with the 300/4 ED-IF. More impressively, it held the 400/4 with only the S body mounted to the tripod head (no plate for the lens foot). That was stupid of me, as the weight might have damaged the camera or adapter, but all was well. Here's the monster in action (sorry, can't resist) properly attached to the tripod. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! It makes the S look like an APS-C. Here it is aimed at the print on the white wall in the next room. It's Klimt's Birkenwald, and a birch tree is seen (zoomed in) on the LCD. Full photo: It's not a great lens, but it was under $400. The 300/4 is much smaller, lighter, no CA, and twice the price. The 400/4 ED-IF is marvelous, costs twice again as much, and weighs 8 pounds. The metabones is doing fine... Sarnian Posted January 2, 2022 Share #26 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) I love the tiny Pentax 645 A 75mm. It performs remarkably well, too. The Pentax lenses are surprisingly good on the S as they only use the central part of the image circle. The 33-55mm FA (on manual focus mode) is a very light and quite wide zoom alternative to the 30-90mm S. The quality is obviously no way near the 30-90mm but horses for courses and all. I got my adapter from this guy: william1039522@gmail.com . He's based in Hong Kong. I don't know if that e-mail address is still current but you could give it a go. Welcome, dear visitor! mgrayson3 Posted January 2, 2022 Share #28 Posted January 2, 2022 I used to have a fairly complete Pentax 645 film setup (up to 200mm ... nothing long). I still have the 120 macro, as it's very smooth and goes to 1:1. Lesson learned. Never get rid of any camera gear! 😇
