alan.y Posted January 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 30, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) For manual lenses at least it should be possible, right? Why does no such adapter exist?
Advertisement Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Hi alan.y, Take a look here Adapting Pentax 645 lenses to the S?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mgrayson3 Posted January 31, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2019 The flange distance of an adapted lens must be greater than the target camera’s by enough to fit an adapter.
alan.y Posted January 31, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted January 31, 2019 I know but Mamiya 645 63.30 mm SLR Contax 645 64.00 mm SLR Pentax 645 70.87 mm SLR
mgrayson3 Posted January 31, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2019 Right. It's a full 645 design. I wan't thinking. No reason, then, except that no one's done it.
alan.y Posted January 31, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted January 31, 2019 (edited) I ask mostly because I see someone has made a custom adapter to adapt the Canon 17 ts-e to Pentax 645 mount. It's a hassle, requiring removal of the shift part and reassembling the lens and sticking it on a Canon body to change the aperture, but for my specific purposes it'd be nice to be able to adapt it to the S. On a thread from 2013 or so, someone cited a Korean maker of adapters claiming that a Pentax 645-Leica S one is technically impossible. But I don't see how it can be so, at least for manual lenses. Of course I could just get the GFX, but we don't need yet another thread here about that. Edited January 31, 2019 by alan.y

alan.y Posted March 9, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted March 9, 2019 Thanks Ip's. I assume this is a custom-made adapter. If the maker is interested in making more and selling them please let us know. 1

helged Posted March 29, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 29, 2019 Thanks to @ip's, I have now a manual Pentax 645 adapter for the S in-house. The adapter looks very well made, and it fits the P645 and S mounts nicely. A test shot with the S006 + Pentax 645 500mm f5.6 wide open below, distance is 700 m. Initial impressions are fine sharpness wide open, no apparent flare against highlights and very limited colour fringing. Good. Welcome, dear visitor! Sarnian Posted September 1, 2019 Share #15 Posted September 1, 2019 I got mine recently (well, 2, actually) and they work really well. Imagine the size differential between a Summarit 70mm and the Pentax A 75mm!!
Arif Posted September 28, 2019 Share #16 Posted September 28, 2019 I recently purchased the 645 adapter and am looking for advice on recommended lenses. I already have the 75/2.8 as a walk-around lens as well as the 135/4. I do mainly portraits. Thank you, Arif www.arifiqball.com
aristodeable Posted March 31, 2020 Share #17 Posted March 31, 2020 Hi, is these adapter for official for sale somewhere, or how can I purchase this adapter? Thanks for any feedback!

Thanks for any feedback! The forum member by the name of ip's was the middle-man for the ones that I ordered. They work really well and having the tiny Pentax 645 A 75mm on my 006 is really refreshing. Edited March 31, 2020 by Sarnian
davidmknoble Posted March 31, 2020 Share #19 Posted March 31, 2020 What is really interesting here is also that there are some long focal length lenses in the Pentax 645 series. 400mm f/5.6. Would these work with that adapter? Very intriguing.

Would these work with that adapter? Absolutely. Do be aware that these are 'dumb' adapters so as long as there is an aperture ring and are MF (or have an AF/MF switch) then you're good to go. 👍 Edited March 31, 2020 by Sarnian
