Thanks for the information on the firmware for the DMR. I am fairly new to the site and find the share of information very useful. Hopefully I will have something to share in the future.

When ever one of you guys update your DMR and go shooting can you send me 2 DNG's one with normal exposure no blown highlights and one where you've blown the highlights. I want to see if I can overcome this 16bit blown highlight problem in Apples Aperture.

eoin(at)iol(dot)ie will get them to me.

Thanks

Steve

Eoin and I (and probably others) have been paying with a raw.plist fiddle, similar to his M8 one of earlier in the year. (If truth be known, Eoin has been doing all the work, I have been playing and amazed by it...)

Anyway, Eoin is welcome to have some of my DMR 1.3 files as soon as I have taken some next week.

My R9 is in NJ getting photocell replaced (again), so I guess I'll have the luxury (and agony  ) of sitting back and hearing what great things you find with the new firmware. I hope they got things right this time. But just in case, it may be worth downloading v1.1 while it's still available online, if you don't have it stored on your computer already.

Yep and I've downloaded it and put it on my DMR. The screen images are now OK and that awful colour cast has gone on the LCD, I have only tried a few images in RAW as that is what I use and they look great with Auto exposure, 100 ISO. The camera histogram is showing acurate exposures so far.

Next step is to try a 4Gb card...if I can find one that is FAT32 and not SDHC. Weather in England is atrocious today, so will give it more use later. Thank you Leica!
