moikle Posted July 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I photographed some real everyday trains. This one fascinated me because of the reverse camber you can see on the trucks. M8, 90mm Elmar f4, ISO 320, 1/750 @ f5.6. Mike
Advertisement Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi moikle, Take a look here Did something today I had not done for 20 years.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted July 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2007 Michael, and why not? Smashing subject matter and you've caught a great sense of movement. I often see Freightliner trains just like this on the bridge at the end of my street (in North London). I must look out for the number and see if it is the same engine. moikle Posted July 21, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 21, 2007 Louis, It could well be that it started its journey in your neck of the woods as it was travelling form south to north. Thanks for the comments. Mike
osscat Posted August 4, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 4, 2011 The camber seen on the rear wagons is due to the camber on the right hand bend. The loco is on a left hand bend hence the exaggeration. The camber is designed to allow passenger trains maintain a higher speed in order to reduce travel times. Regards Nurdy Osscat
