Two from this morning, with the nokton35/1.4sc on the m240. One on f1.4, the other at f8.

In another thread I called this lens gimmicky, and to me it is, and it bothers me that real sharpness isn’t there. Great for a portrait lens, but not for my 35mm. So the lens has to go, and not sure if I will replace it.

The Nokton 35/1.4 SC v2 is a superb lens in my view. It is sharper with less flare and coma than the Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph and it has also less contrast than both Summilux 35/1.4 FLE and Summicron 35/2 asph. So much the better for gentle portraits but the MC version of the Nokton has more contrast with more busy bokeh if you prefer that. I don't recall having had so much choice among 35mm M-mount lenses but my memory may fail me.

Had so many different lenses for the M system over the years but I always got back to my first lens, the Nokton 35mm f1.4. Not even the "better" second version but the first iteration with its well-known focus shift. There's just something about its flaws / character I really appreciate. It's the only reason why I am still using my M camera.

Starting the ascent of Turtlehead Peak at Red Rock, NV

Gets super bright and glowy right at sunrise, then simmers down a bit. I love this area.
