Jager Posted July 15, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 15, 2007 Lovely shot, Fahim. Nothing like a beautiful family portrait to make all this expensive photography stuff worthwhile! Jeff
tashley Posted July 15, 2007 Share #10 Posted July 15, 2007 Phew, an actual picture! And a very nice one too. I think you'll find 'acceptable' will be a moveable feast in future as you get more critical and see what the M8 can do when the wind is right... but this is a great shot to kick off with and better than most of us do when we've just opened the box! tashley Posted July 15, 2007 Share #16 Posted July 15, 2007 Tim, it is proving to be a fantastic learning experience. even the pain is bearable.thank youfor your nice words. Take care. Thanks Fursan... I just re-read my original post and it did not say quite what I meant! Re-read: this is a really lovely shot and far better than most of us get when we first use the camera. As you use it more and more you will discover that it (in your hands) can do extraordinary things and I wish you luck on the journey... Tim ps don't fall into 'the trap' (= buying lots of extra lenses) until you have really got to grips with the camera. One lens is enough for at least a couple of months unless you are a working pro: get to know one lens really well, then add another and do the same. The only accessory you need is a 1.25x magnifier, most useful from 50mm lenses upwards but I use it on my 35 cron.) pps there is one exception: get a CV 15mm - it costs nothing and is... truly great! Tim, thanks for your encouraging comments. I wish somebody had given me the advice tendered by you earlier. I have already purchases the 35 'cron + 'lux 50 +'cron 75. They are on their way. I thought of getting the purchases out of the way and be done with it. I have been mulling over a uwa for sometime. I shall get the cv15 and the lt-m8. I am not sure which adapter to order..there seem to be 3 kinds. shall be grateful for your help. Getting out of the nikon habit will take time. It had become second nature to me. Best. He will make sure you get the right one. Then you shoulld order a 39mm IR filter now so that you get it soon because John Milich's turnaround time is very fast!
