Very nice, was this with a 35mm Summilux pre asph?

no it was taken with a Sony cam years ago - before I got smart in February this year and got my first rangefinder :)

I'm obsessed with images from the 35/1.4 pre-asph shot wide open, almost bought one. But Ye convinced me to get the steel rim reissue which I did, and I'm ecstatic with it. But that said, I love seeing the images posted on this thread including yours.

Whoever said you can’t shoot wildlife with a manual lens wide open was mad. I could barely keep up but I got there in the end.

Thought you may find this review of interest. I've posted about my experience with the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux Pre-Aspherical lens.

It's too difficult to copy/paste the formatting, so I'll provide a link to my non-commercial website: https://fcracer.com/leica-35mm-f1-4-summilux-pre-asp-ii-11870-review/

Happy to answer any questions here.

Nice review with great Hong Kong photos! I own this lens too for more than three decades, use it with film and digital Ms and I love it, especially in low light conditions, where it truly shows its unique character. About the country of origin, my lens states Made in Germany, no need to guess via the SN.

"This lens was originally launched in 1967 and was available for sale for 28 years. "

The original launch of the 35 summilux v2 was in 1966 sharing the batch 216 started with  v1 lenses .

Enjoy your lens !

Best JM.

Thanks for the correction JM. Imagine the first time someone in 1966 would have looked at the photo that came from this lens. Must have been quite the revelation and jubilation!
