Photoworks Posted February 15, 2023 Share #41  Posted February 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think the Air 1 and Air 10s are totally different systems. I think the only compatible flash would be the i60a with latest firmware. I sent my flashes in to California and they updated them for $15-20 dollar. the newer more powerful Nissan MG80 flash doesn't work on the Leica trigger. some reported that the MG10 can be updated to work. Emailing with Japan showed me no trust in future compatibility. i60a is an ok flash, my biggest issue id battery power. and old tech in radio software. Godox modern flashes use powerful batteries that last long and recharges flash faster, no need for external pack. Godox does not have a Leica mount flash, but I would hope they are working on it. Godox flashes have much more option and shapes , moonlight and Ring, and the Godox have a transmitter on the flash, you can use the flash on the camera and have other around still firing from hotshoe. Godox is only compatible with SL2 , M10 and Q2 at this point, the M11 is not working correctly
Advertisement Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Hi Photoworks, Take a look here Can the SF C1 control the Nissin i60A for others systems?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fiatlux Posted February 15, 2023 Share #42  Posted February 15, 2023 The Nissin FAQ clearly says that both the Di700A and i60A would be compatible with the SF C1 after a “Leica Compatibility” update and I always assumed the Air10 to be a fancier version of the Air1, with clearer controls. But I’m with you regarding the lack of confidence in the future of Nissin, to the point that I am not sure it is worth spending much money on an upgrade. It looks like the local distributor has changed name or been acquired by a larger group which delayed me getting the right contact. I’ll see what they say but a switch to Godox seems more likely. I eventually received a reply from Nissin's HQ in HK - they claimed they could only update the i60A for SF C1 compatibility. Looks like I will head for Godox V860IIIs and X-Pro IIs
