adan Posted August 11, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 11, 2018 You can, but unlike the M8, the newer M's have an IR "ISO" of about 4. (1/30th sec. @ f/8 in sunlight). You have to set a fairly high actual ISO on the camera to avoid long exposure times. And you need a strong "visible-light-blocking" deep red filter to get the IR to stand out. I don't know (and I own a 262). Let me see.... You can shoot jpeg and you can set the Saturation to B&W if you want B&W jpegs. That's for the M 262. Unfortunately that does not achieve IR's particular ability to see through haze. It is necessary to use a lens filter. cobbu2 Posted August 31, 2018 Share #12 Posted August 31, 2018 It's even possible with a B+W 093; it takes a good dose of exposure though, here an example with the M240, Canon 50/1.4 LTM lens at f/2, 1/30th sec, ISO 1600: The M8 is still my preferred approach to digital IR though, IMO much easier to work with.
