Setting the CL into video capture mode and making a video clip is pretty darn easy, I don't know what kind of tutorial you need to do that, albert.  Using the video capture to make a movie is a much more involved thing that requires a lot more than working the CL to do the capture. I'd recommend taking a look at https://nofilmschool.com to gauge what your interest is.  G

albert Posted August 9, 2018 Author Share #7  Posted August 9, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’m on factory settings but so many of my photographs are way out of focus. I m confused with all the free squares jumping around compare to my previous cameras where the focu point is in the center.

I m confused with all the free squares jumping around compare to my previous cameras where the focu point is in the center.  Albert I think you would be better putting the camera in single focus point mode, then just use the four way pad on the rear to put the focus point where you want it to be.  Think you must have it set on some sort of tracking or facial recognition.  So Menu - Focus Mode - AFs  AF Mode - Spot.  Try that for a while.  Good luck, you'll get there. jaapv Posted August 9, 2018 Share #9  Posted August 9, 2018 Why don't you set the camera to single point focus?  BTW, are you trying to turn the focus ring to follow the points? Don't. Just let the camera choose to begin with, the squares are only there to show you what is in focus.  If you do a half-press you will lock the focus in and you can recompose. Single point focus is simplest, spot focus is the same and more precise but slightly more challenging, multipoint works fine for basic point-and-shoot work. Tracking is more advanced.  So: Set to AFS, single point focus, lock focus by half-press and recompose.  I wouldn't recommend to go positioning the focus point by the arrow keys when you are having trouble anyway - whilst you are pressing you lose the moment. Just keep it centered and recompose at first.Get a bit more used to the camera before branching out.
ramarren Posted August 10, 2018 Share #10  Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) I only work with manual focus lenses but this is how I’ve always worked with motion capture anyway. AF in motion capture never works well IMO. In motion capture, you have to plan your shots, including the in-out of focus transitions. They’re part of what makes a real movie work.
