Utz Nagal Posted July 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Sometimes i got the message "Bottom cover removed" on the screen, bot the cover is closed. To clear the message I switch off and on again and then it´s gone. P.S.: That happen right after closing the bottom cover because of switching sd-card or battery. TomB_tx Posted August 26, 2018 Share #5 Posted August 26, 2018 The bottom cover is detected by a small magnet attached to the inside of the plate (small silver dot) that activates a switch in the camera. Perhaps the magnet is slightly out of position, or your magnetic personality confuses things.
SARobinson Posted August 27, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 27, 2018 It's happened to me once, after changing the battery. Usually I turn the camera off when changing the battery so this was the first time I got the error message.

roverover Posted August 29, 2018 Share #8 Posted August 29, 2018 No one has experienced this? Curious, do you remove your bottom cover with the camera powered ON and then return the cover and see the message with it still powered on?
Utz Nagal Posted August 29, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) Curious, do you remove your bottom cover with the camera powered ON and then return the cover and see the message with it still powered on? yes, my m10 power switch is always on. roverover Posted August 29, 2018 Share #10 Posted August 29, 2018 yes, my m10 power switch is always on. I believe your camera is fine, you "must" turn the camera OFF to remove the battery OR memory card. The manual states the same and also indicates to never remove the cover while the camera is still writing files to the card, which is just common sense. Cheers.
Tailwagger Posted August 29, 2018 Share #11 Posted August 29, 2018 Probably goes without saying, but if your power switch is perpetually in the on state, its equally a good idea to get into the habit of switching off prior to changing lenses as well.
