joaodinispinho Posted July 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, I’m relatively inexperienced in photography. I appreciate a good photo and always wish to know more about it. I am looking for a good compact camera to take with me to near future trips to Portugal, Russia and China. Something that would be easier to carry than my DSLR Canon 550d and deliver better photos than my iPhone 7. I found a (barely) used Leica X-E in perfect condition, for 400€ (about 470$). For what I have seen, it seems like it is not a bad price. What are your thoughts on this?

jaapv Posted July 9, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2018 Can't say much about the price, but the camera certainly fits your needs for a modest sum.
DwF Posted July 9, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 9, 2018 Should be a wonderful travel companion for you! I traveled with an X1 years ago and loved it. Still have one image from Cairo that I enlarged hanging, and it looks great. David
daviec Posted July 31, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2018 I’ve owned an X-E for a couple of years and it’s a great lightweight ‘take anywhere’ camera that delivers great images. Don’t forget it doesn’t come with a viewfinder but you can add the cheaper Olympus VF-2 which is discontinued, but you will find plenty on eBay. Once you get used to it consider adding an X Vario which has the most superb zoom lens and also works with the Olympus viewfinder. Good luck!
