Exposure metering on an R6.2

There's nothing wrong with my beloved R9, or indeed my SL2 that I use for B&W photos, but I fancied pulling my R6.2 out and running a film through it just for old times' sake (and because it's a bit lighter to carry around!). I was chuffed to find the battery is fine and everything lights up, so as far as I know I'm good to go.

 

However, there is an annoyance. I am pretty sure I've solved this for myself in the dim and distant past but I can't for the life of me remember how. 

 

My problem relates to exposure metering. I'm using a variety of R lenses, and whichever one I use on the R6.2 the little oblong exposure metering symbol in the bottom left of the viewfinder flashes incessantly. Swap from full-field to selective metering mode, and the symbol becomes a circle but still flashes.

 

I want it to stop flashing! I had a feeling it was something to do with low light, but even pointing the camera skywards outside on a blazing hot summer's day like today, with clear blue cloudless skies, it's still blooming well flashing. Obviously I can switch exposure metering off, but I'd rather it worked properly.

 

What am I doing wrong? How can I stop it flashing?

I am very new to an R6.2 with only a couple of films run through and this does the same on my camera. I just assumed it does that to highlight to you which metering mode you are in for that shot.

Yep, finally got there myself - I knew I'd worked it out ages ago and couldn't for the life of me remember! As you rightly say, it flashes to show the manual override for exposure correction is set to something other than 0, which is obviously what's happened here. Thanks!

Well, always learning..........particularly as my second film came back with images slightly under exposed. Great to know the reason thank you so much.
