Jimothy Posted September 1, 2018 Share #64 Posted September 1, 2018 It was a grand day out. Nice to put some faces to names and meet some new people and some I had met before. Big thanks to Geoff for organising it. Did I talk myself into organising one in Chester?
masjah Posted September 1, 2018 Share #65 Posted September 1, 2018 A grand day out! Good to meet friends old and new. My and Marilyn's thanks also to Geoff for setting things up. Jim, I rather think Chester was mentioned linked to you as we were leaving, so consider yourself lumbered!
Jimothy Posted September 1, 2018 Share #66 Posted September 1, 2018 Any polite suggestions as to what caused the pink bit at the top of the frame? It's on all the pictures I took with the Voigtlander 15mm but not on those I took with Leica glass. Welcome, dear visitor! It's on all the pictures I took with the Voigtlander 15mm but not on those I took with Leica glass. Hi Jim, I suspect it depends what lens you'd told your M240 you'd attached to it. If you hadn't changed the lens ID when you swapped lenses then your M240 would have thought it was still your 35 Summilux pre-asph v2 and accordingly applied the correction for that lens hence the vignetting and colour-shift. (It should be readily correctible with CornerFix I expect.) Pete.
farnz Posted September 1, 2018 Share #69 Posted September 1, 2018 Thanks very much to Geoff for arranging a very pleasant meet and for sorting the weather out (you'll have to let me know how you do that!). Lovely to see familiar faces again and to meet new people. I'm happy to say that the choo-choos behaved themselves very well on the day although they were filled to the gunwales. Pete. stunsworth Posted September 2, 2018 Share #71 Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) Any polite suggestions as to what caused the pink bit at the top of the frame? It's on all the pictures I took with the Voigtlander 15mm but not on those I took with Leica glass. It’s a problem caused by the exit pupil of the Voigtlander being close to the sensor so the light hits the sensor at an extreme handle. I have the same problem with mine. I’m guessing this was the first version of the lens as later ones are said to have reduced/eliminated the problem. If you use Lightroom selecting one of the Voigtlander profiles in the develop module may help. Edited September 2, 2018 by stunsworth

That makes sense because I don't see the same problem when I use film - even the rare times i use colour

farnz Posted September 2, 2018 Share #76 Posted September 2, 2018 Thanks Pete. I don't think theres an option for a 15mm lens on the menu. Hi, Jim, No you're right, there's not. Most people select either the 16-18-21/4 Wide Angle Tri-Elmar (at 16mm setting) but others have reported that selecting the setting for 21/2.8 Elmarit pre-asph works very well too. As long as the M240 thinks it's looking through an ultra wide angle lens it will adjust the colour vignetting accordingly and should reduce the magenta vignetting significantly (I notice there's some lurking at the bottom of your picture too but that's what I'd expect). Pete.
