audidudi Posted July 12, 2007 Share #21 Posted July 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) no na no, i used the Panasonic wide converter lens (which is massive) for 22mm Actually, the DMW-LW69 wide-angle converter has a .82x multiplication factor, which works out to just under 23mm, not 22mm. (Not that a silly millimeter matters all that much in the grand scheme of things, of course!)
Advertisement Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Hi audidudi, Take a look here the D2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Riley Posted July 12, 2007 Share #22 Posted July 12, 2007 hey, its 22.96 ! i saw it in a review and cant believe i never worked it out i have posted its massiveness here before, but lets relive it this is heavier than any dSLR i have and thats just the lens ! i guess F2 at err, nearly 22mm is somewhat rare though ... farnz Posted July 12, 2007 Share #23 Posted July 12, 2007 Rob, Jeez, Louise, you've got a big one! How do you find the image quality with the DMW-LW69? Distortion, keystoning, sharpness in the corners etc? Pete.
Riley Posted July 12, 2007 Share #24 Posted July 12, 2007 i dont have a frame to demonstrate on this box But it holds F2 without issue It magnifies the inherent distortion of the Summicron, so it is rather more, but with the right tools its easy to remove. Sharpness is different it can tend to be soft at the edges if you dont watch your DoF in normal shooting this isnt an issue, but with UWA sometimes you can be tempted to add some handy foreground, and thats where it would on occasion go wrong for me. It can focus very short in macro, I think shortest focus is around an inch or two.
dhsimmonds Posted July 12, 2007 Share #25 Posted July 12, 2007 Nice shot Annie and really effective in monochrome. This is the sort of shot that the D2/LC1 excels in, quiet shutter and a cracking lens. You get used to the limitations of the viewfinder. I actually alternate between this camera and the R9 which has a very clear viewfinder but it really doesn't bother me. My LC1 (D2) is my preferred walk around camera as I can snap away so discreetly and as you have also found, zoom in and out without the lens changes a rangefinder would need. Annie135 Posted July 13, 2007 Share #26 Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks. But for me the D2 is also great for colour with all the settings on normal. it really is an impressive camera, three years is a long term relationship in digital terms. in fact in that time I have had three Nikons, D100,D70s and D200. And that Panasonic/ Leica lens............wow. Look Dad, bloody cat in the garden again. Brian Welcome, dear visitor! arminw Posted July 13, 2007 Share #27 Posted July 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great Images indeed .... shame they didn't develop the D2 any further.... ! I dont like the D3 it doesn't feel very nice in my hands and it is to big ... the D2 was just perfect . However , I sold mine to fund the M8 and truly miss it !! audidudi Posted July 13, 2007 Share #28 Posted July 13, 2007 It magnifies the inherent distortion of the Summicron, so it is rather more, but with the right tools its easy to remove. FYI, the PT Lens program has a profile for the LC1 w/.82x converter ... it's inexpensive, easy to use (either standalone or as a Photoshop plug-in), and works well with very little image degradation.
