ktmrider2 Posted June 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just discovered that my MP240 is totally dead when I use a certain battery. As far as I know, this battery worked just fine last time it was in the camera. The charger shows normal charging activity (ready lights etc) and the camera works just fine when the other battery is inserted. I have ordered another battery but have never seen this type of problem. Ideas?

jdlaing Posted June 5, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 5, 2018 When they go bad they go bad. I’ve only ever had one that did that.
ktmrider2 Posted June 9, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted June 9, 2018 I cleaned the contacts on the bad battery and the camera-no go. The bad battery still seems to charge normally (ready lights on charger work as they should) but camera is non responsive. I got a new battery today, charged it and put it in the camera and camera works as advertised. Guess batteries do go bad occasionally. $190 for a battery does seem like highway robbery or just normal Leica pricing.
newnew Posted June 9, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) I also got a sudden death. The charger blinked strangely when in charge. The camera was not responsive. I returned it to leica store for a check and still no response. In the meantime I paid a new one. Edited June 9, 2018 by newnew
Gobert Posted June 9, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2018 that’s one of the characteristics. If they die, it goes often from the one to the other moment.
