skimmel Posted May 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Was using M10 today -- took maybe a dozen photos and battery gauge (which started at 100%) dropped to 50%. Used it a bit more, and battery gauge went back up to 90%. Then, after a few more photos, gauge went to 25%. Later in day, after using some more, it went back up to 75%. I'm on latest firmware. Battery is relatively new. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks.

Narsuitus Posted May 28, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2018 How is the weather where you are shooting? Are you moving between the cold outdoors and the warm indoors?
M11 for me Posted May 28, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) Did you try with another battery? Edited May 28, 2018 by Alex U.
a.noctilux Posted May 28, 2018 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) Battery is relatively new. I think that is the cause. New battery must be charged and discharged a few times to be 100% efficient. ... Or difference in temperature as Narsuitus suggested. skimmel Posted May 29, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted May 29, 2018 Thanks everyone. Was not moving from one "climate" to another. Didn't have 2nd battery with me, but will try that. Will also do a few discharge/recharge cycles.
roblumba Posted May 31, 2018 Share #6 Posted May 31, 2018 I've seen something similar. My battery was suddenly at 35%. It was in the middle of a shoot and I didn't have my backup battery. I actually had my wife drive home, which was only a few streets away thankfully, to get my second battery. Meanwhile, I turned off the camera, took the battery out, put it back in, and battery was back to 90%. My wife was slightly upset that I say everything is fine when she returned! I've had my camera since Nov 2017 and using these batteries in similar California weather. I have only had this happen to me once.

Next time you hand the M10 to your wife, invite her for a drink of choice in a street café and get your battery yourself

Why did you tell her? “Whew honey, you saved the day, thank you.” I had a brand new 911 that would run out of gas randomly below a half tank regardless of what the guage said. Happened twice before I started resetting the trip meter.
