Was using M10 today -- took maybe a dozen photos and battery gauge (which started at 100%) dropped to 50%.  Used it a bit more, and battery gauge went back up to 90%. Then, after a few more photos, gauge went to 25%.  Later in day, after using some more, it went back up to 75%.

I'm on latest firmware.  Battery is relatively new.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks.

Battery is relatively new.

I think that is the cause.

New battery must be charged and discharged a few times to be 100% efficient.

...

Or  difference in temperature as Narsuitus suggested.

I've seen something similar. My battery was suddenly at 35%. It was in the middle of a shoot and I didn't have my backup battery. I actually had my wife drive home, which was only a few streets away thankfully, to get my second battery. Meanwhile, I turned off the camera, took the battery out, put it back in, and battery was back to 90%. My wife was slightly upset that I say everything is fine when she returned! :)

I've had my camera since Nov 2017 and using these batteries in similar California weather. I have only had this happen to me once.

Next time you hand the M10 to your wife, invite her for a drink of choice in a street café and get your battery yourself  :p

Why did you tell her? “Whew honey, you saved the day, thank you.”

I had a brand new 911 that would run out of gas randomly below a half tank regardless of what the guage said. Happened twice before I started resetting the trip meter.
