Walter Wombat Posted May 23, 2018 Share #1  Posted May 23, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone experienced problems writing to SD cards? Occasionally I get a message telling me the image couldn’t be written to the SD Card. This happens even both newly formatted cards as well as cards formatted in camera with existing images. The only fix is to reformat the Card. Both Sandisk and Lexar are affected. I did read about problems with other Leica models and Sandisk but thought they had been resolved. Astropap Posted May 23, 2018 Share #2 Â Posted May 23, 2018 I have not had this problem with my Q, X Vario, or D Lux 109 using either brand. Â Amy
thighslapper Posted May 23, 2018 Share #3  Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) Possibly try cleaning the contacts ....... I did this by using a plastic friendly solvent on the SD card metal bits and repeatedly inserting/removing it, cleaning and applying more solvent several times.  I had a similar problem with my M9 and it was dirty contacts in the camera.  Otherwise I can think of no other cause of intermittent problems.... pico Posted May 23, 2018 Share #4 Â Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) I had a similar problem with my M9 and it was dirty contacts in the camera. Â And with the M9 we had the option of of using its USB port (and proprietary cable - or so it seems to be.) Edited May 23, 2018 by pico
Walter Wombat Posted May 23, 2018 Author Share #5  Posted May 23, 2018 I’ll give the contacts a clean but as an almost new camera they really shouldn’t be dirty.....
