Hi guys. I want buy r lens for my Monochrome. 1ultra wide. Wide.normal.

Whwt do you think about 21mm f4. 60 macro. And ( 24 f2.8 rom or 28mm f2.8 ver2 ??? ) ?

But i know 24mm in minolta glass. But i have not idea . Please help. Thanks a lot

Elmarit 28 v2 is an awesome lens, far better than the (albeit good) Elmarit 24. However, I think the 24 is better than the old 21.

The 60 is a gem, you can go wrong with that.

Another possibility worth considering is the excellent 21-35/3.5-4 R zoom. Combine that with the latest 35-70/4 (which has a macro setting) and you've got a lot of bases covered.

I have the 21-35mm Vario-R and the 60mm Macro - both give excellent results on my M240 (and R5).  Highly recommended!

They all are good and probably far exceed most users' skills, so the issue isn't which is better, but which focal length best fits your shooting vision.

I want to use leica monochrome. I need an ultrawide lens and a single wado. I have a number of M lenses like 35 mm and 50 mm and 75 apo. I want to know your opinion about R lenses. 21 mmf 4, 24 f2.8 and 28 v2. Which is better?

All are 'better' depending what you need. Just buy the lot and sell the ones you find you don't end up using.

The "better" lens (ie. sharper, best corrected etc...) between the three is the Elmarit 28 v2, a far more modern, floating design, but these are 3 different focal lengths, what you can do with a 21mm you can't do with a 28mm, and vice versa.

Why R lenses though?

Cost? then yes, but the wider R lenses are not all that cheaper, unless you go real old (thinking SA21R).

Why not M lenses for the Monochrom? They will certainly be smaller, as the R lens will need the R to M adapter, which adds cost, complexity, and bulk.

Yes just buy 18mm Leica M lens... why R lens on monochrom when there are good M mount lenses available.
