RedBus Posted May 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Using the 18 - 56 I’ve noticed that the lens hood doesn’t seem to lock in place. On e small knock and the ‘petals’ on the hood will intrude into the image. Am I missing something or is there a secret locking device that I’ve missed? Or does anyone else have a solution. Advertisement Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Hi RedBus, Take a look here 18 - 56 Lens hood. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
meerec Posted May 9, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 9, 2018 :-) have you tried harder to twist the hood into place beyond the klick ... I had a similar ‘isssue’ with my 11-23 zoom
jaapv Posted May 9, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2018 It takes a bit of force to lock it in place. You will hear and feel a click. It is the same for reverse mounting. Not a very good design. Zeiss has implemented the bayonet lens hood much better by using metal.
RedBus Posted May 9, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted May 9, 2018 Many thanks. A good twist and it locks in place. There will be further questions as I get used to my move from Fuji.
wda Posted May 12, 2018 Share #5 Posted May 12, 2018 I think it is best left in place. What is needed is a small snug-fitting muff to reduce dust coating the front lens element.
