Sweet moment. Also, very fine grain and beautiful gray tones in the image. I'm going to have to try some TMax 100.

Thanks! TMax 100 is one of my favourite films. If you keep your eyes open you can often find it on sale at various spots online. For some, the fine grain looks too clinical (even digital), but I like that about it. Admittedly, I do need to detox with some Ilford Delta 3200 every now and then. But I always go back to my beloved TMax 100 ❤️

Finally, after a lot of searching and back and forth, I got myself an M6. It had some leaky baffle seals so needs to go to a round trip to Leica Vienna (I tried to mute it down in Lightroom, looks a bit too much unedited - but you can see it in the right side of the picture as a darker radial gradient with less detail underneath). Can't wait to get it back! Tri-X with the VM 35 1.5.

Nice pic, but somehow the hat seems too new to be in character.

A conversation with him would be interesting.

It was taken at one of those battle reenactments last weekend (The Battle of Longwoods, 1814). I'd never beed to one before, but it was a marvellous place to get portraits. The participants take the hobby very seriously, camping out in tents in the cold, etc. I agree, the hat needs a little "brassing", but overall the costumes were marvellous. My seven-year-old son had a great time. Check out his hat (M6, 50lux, Tri-X):
