ihw Posted July 14, 2007 Share #21 Posted July 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) For others faced with a similar problem, the deal with the package I'm getting from aaduki: - Cover "at home" for the full value year round - Cover in use for up to £14000 at any one time (which suits the way I work) - Limit on cash value of single items set at £10,000 - up to 60 days world wide a year - up to £2000 hire fees per claim if needed.. Chris, does this include any cover for gear left in unattened vehicle? regards Ian

chris_tribble Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share #22 Posted July 14, 2007 Ian - covered if the kit is in the boot / out of sight, but there's a cash limit on the total claim in this case... not quite sure what this is as I'm waiting for the documentation to come through. topoxforddoc Posted July 14, 2007 Share #24 Posted July 14, 2007 Like John Dobson, our household is insured with Norwich Union Tapestry. My Leica kit is registered with them and it is a new for old policy. If the product is discontinued, then they will supply a suitable new product. When I had my R9/DMR and a couple of lenses stolen, I agreed my losses with the adjuster, in conjunction with a letter from Frank Foster at Photo Design Studio (from whom I purchase most of my kit). After that they agreed to just let me get on and replace the kit and they sent me a cheque. If you have a discontinued item, the you'll have to ask for the nearest equivalent. Hence if you lose your RD-1S, then I would go for a Leica M8 and ask your friendly camera purveyor to help you. The loss adjusters and their companies are not experts in camera gear. Best wishes, Charlie
