Number 0597 may be serial number indicating limited edition. I can see Leica script imprinted into the upper leather in the first image, I would imagine expensive.

I first saw this bag in a "Leica M6 The Modern Classic" 32 page brochure with a date of X/96 on the back. Designed for Leica by Klaus Bree. Mine is #0632. Nice bag for M equipment.

In my earlier post I forgot to mention the bag is called a "New Generation" holdall, was made of silk/nylon and was available in two colors and sizes. The black version was cat #14850 black-small and cat #14848 black - large. Olive green version was #14851 small and #14849 large.

My guess is that finding one of these bags that is up for sale will not be easy.  I would start by contacting Leica specialty boutique retailers (Tamarkin, Leica Store Miami, Camera West, Leica Store San Francisco, etc.) to see if they have one in their preowned departments. 

 

Try that, and check on ebay.

Had one, gave it to a friend to sold it to OCCamera a couple of years ago.  The leather closures for the end pockets are easily lost and irreplaceable by Klaus Bree, so be sure they are both there before purchase.  Oh, and when I bought mine used, it was around $200.00 U.S.

Hi, I have the large Olive green one Leica No14849,  they were produced for Leica and sold as a leica product in proper leica boxes just like a camera.

There is one on E-bay at the moment for £393.00 see the item No below. I am not 100% sure but the only present day reference to Klaus Bree is a company called Bree 

that sell exclusive leather bags, although I cannot get a direct connection and I have made lots of searches and there is very little information Re Klaus Bree. 

Does anyone Know more info?
