The best solution with lens and rangefinder calibration is send the whole kit, lenses and bodies off and pay for "expedited service".It's not even that expensive and your kit comes back working like a dream.

+1

Noticed 3 cm front focus on M9 with Apo 90 asph. Sent in these and my M10 plus my other M lenses and now all work with each other perfectly. Since I do not buy & sell lenses that often, I don’t care much if, now, everything might be ‚off standard’ in some idiosyncratic way. For me it was worth it to have a fully compatible set.

How do you do this - if you're not a pro?

In my case, so far it has been recalibration under warranty - there was no question of paying for it. If any other lenses need calibrated, it might be an option.

When you said it’s off at infinity focus, did you mean with the lens at the infinity focus stop or with the rangefinder patches aligned when viewing a subject at least a few miles away?

If the first, it’s the lens, as the RF is not in the picture in that scenario. If the latter, could be either one or combination of both. If your other lenses are spot on, probably the 75.

Thanks. What I find confusing is that the 28 and 50 are spot on, but the fault can still be in the calibration of the camera.

I probably try a third one and see where it goes from there.

The second one was off at infinity at focus stop and I could see in the patch that it was not sharp. At 8 metres it had about 5 metres backfocus and at minimum (0.7)  distance the picture was sharp. The first lens I tried looked sharp in some pictures, but at 100% enlargement is wasn't. Second lens: focus on the tower. Shot at f2.

Focus on the waterbottle, but the car is in focus. Later I focussed on the car, but that time the car was out of focus.
