Hi all,

Recently when I was trying to fit the hood on my Summicron 35, it has started to rotate around itself. The markers are not aligned anymore.

Picture wise it doesn’t effect. Can I fix it by myself or should send it to Germany or somewhere in UK?

Make sure the two lugs of the hood are inserted into the notches of the lens.

Yep they are and the part they attach rotate as well like a loose ring

It should not. Your lens needs to be fixed then i'm afraid. Not sure if this is relevant to you but avoiding to grab those lenses by the hood is a good idea generally.

Who is free of sin... I did the same mistake in my youth and now my 35/2 v4 looks like that. Easy to screw again the optical cell as a temporary repair but i don't know if this works the same way on the 35/2 asph.

Lesson learnt my friend, so the question is, is it fixable in UK or Wetzlar is the place?
