oh, please not yet! Just got my "Q1" today! :)

Totally enjoy your Q now. There’s infinite speculation. I say spend your time with this marvelous camera making spectacular and memorable photos NOW. Someday a new Q or M11 or Sony or some other brand will come along and excite interest. My single biggest limitation on taking quality photos is the dull gray matter between my left and right ear. It’s definitely not a camera. Enjoy your new Q!

Thanks so much for your encouragement. Since deciding to get into digital seriously about 6 months ago, I did a lot of reading and, while there are certainly more-bang-for-your-buck cameras out there, I haven't read other discussion boards whose users are nearly as enthusiastic as are Q users. And I can certainly see why.

Always remember, that even though there is a new model or camera released, your current camera is just as good as it has always been  ;)

Besides Leica I have Nikons, mostly using the D800. Fulfil my needs just as good as it did when I bought it 5 years ago. I have saved lots of $, not buying a D810 or a D850 or whatever

To buy a Qx it really needs to have some significant benefits from the Q I have now

Could there be Q's that Leica could develop? As another posted requested a Q for B&W only - call that Q2. Could there also be a Q3 like the X Vario with a fixed 24-85mm zoom?

Any takers?

I doubt that there'll be any variants of the Q. Leica say they chose the 28mm lens partly because it kept the overall size within certain limits they wanted. A Q with a zoom lens will be huge (unless it's a very slow lens). The market for a B&W only Q would be tiny.

If you want a FF camera with a zoom buy the SL. If you want a B&W only camera but the M whatever it is. If you want a FF fixed lens 'compact' buy the Q.

28mm is nice but the blazing fast autofocus would come in more handy with 1.7 35mm and 50mm lenses. Add the fact that they are generally more popular focal lengths, and that they would probably bring the size of the lens down a notch, it might make sense for Leica to offer one or both of these focal lengths further down the line.

Apart from an extra 1-2 stops of ISO performance, and maybe increased battery life, I can't really think of any other way it can be significantly bettered.
