After the announcement of the Fuji X-H1 yesterday I believe Leica is the only mirrorless company not offering image stabilization.  A huge strategic mistake IMO.

Hasselblad x1d doesnt have IS either.

I dont miss OIS in the CL that much EXCEPT in the 55-135.

Tom, I agree with you for outdoor usage, for indoor usage all 3 zooms would IMO benefit from OIS.

I use the 24-90mm and its OIS all the time when shooting indoors.  I am really looking for an APS-C equivalent.

And you are right, I overlooked the X1D, I would assume the same probably applies to the Fuji GFX 50s as well...

What is your point?  That Leica should produce and market aps-c bodies as Fuji does?  Not likely to happen.

As I said, Leica's decision to forego IBIS in the CL is not necessarily a mistake.  IBIS and OIS make bodies and lenses larger and heavier.  Some want light and small as a priority.   Ergo the CL.

The difference in size between the Fuji X-T2/1 and the new X-H1 with IBIS is considerable.  If the CL had IBIS and was correspondingly larger like the X-H1 is to the X-T2, I'd be less interested in the CL.

Anyway, I prefer image stabilization in the lens, where I can choose it as an option, and for longer lenses where it is more relevant and is more effective than in-camera stabilization.

The Fuji X-T2 and the X-H1 are different cameras and target a different audience IMO.   I am not convinced that the size difference is caused by IBIS.

The Fuji X-H1 is much more targeted at videographers, sports photographers and wildlife photographers.  It is less targeted at street photographers.

I would be totally fine with OIS as well but none of the current Leica TL zooms offers OIS...

Yes, the TL zooms would benefit greatly from OIS, fully agree, especially with their relatively slow apertures. Hopefully the SL OIS technology will migrate to the TL equivalents, but I’m sure Leica would rather I buy the SL so I’m not holding my breath.

+1.  For me personally with the TL2 and the CL it has become clear to me that APS-C has reached a quality level that is more than sufficient for me.

I love the Leica SL but I quite frankly don't need it...  I very much would like Leica to invest a lot more in APS-C...

I do most of my shooting outdoor so the OIS or IBIS does not really bother me (not tried the 55-135 YET)

The 11-23 is very impressive. Took this yesterday in town, straight from camera.
