hirohhhh Posted February 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought B1 pack of two, but I can't get a shot without curtain with shutter speed above 1/250. Is there any way I can shot with SL and B1 with faster shutter speed?
Advertisement Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Hi hirohhhh, Take a look here SL & Profoto B1 curtain. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ingo Posted February 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2018 Unfortunately not.
hirohhhh Posted February 4, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted February 4, 2018 Hi Ingo, thanks for the reply. Is that a camera limitation, or what? I've seen YouTube videos where people are shooting freeze shots on a very high shutter speeds and I just wondering how can I achieve that. Please note that this is just my hobby, and I'm not a photographer. I've shooting with bare camera without flashed and lights for about a year and I just added two lights and the game totally changes, so I'm exploring it now. Ingo Posted February 4, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 4, 2018 Profoto just offers HSS enabled Air-Remote triggers for Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and Sony. And a built in solution for Phase One (included in the XF-Body). I'm not sure if they are not allowed to offer a dedicated Leica version or if they are just not interested in Leica because it's a relatively small brand. It's a pity because Profoto is state of the art and Leica's marketing speech says that the SL is targeting professionals. I really hope that they will close this gap some day. The whole 'flash' topic is not tackled seriously within the company.
Wojtek Posted February 4, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 4, 2018 Exactly. SL being probably the only professional camera not able to natively work with Profoto (Nikons, Canons, recently also Fuji, Sony and as you say but I didn't knew Olympus and Hasselblad in a way). And TL2 being probably the most expensive camera ever not able to work with remote lights as a main light source at all (due to lack of PASM/PAS option CL and SL and probably every single mirrorless have). You could probably find few examples which disprove what I wrote here, but I guess there will only be 1) few of them and 2) they'll be from 1953 or so Problem remains
hirohhhh Posted February 4, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted February 4, 2018 Thanks. Wow, it’s pitty that one of the best cameras and lights are not talking to each other. I hope for the better times to come.

geetee1972 Posted February 10, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 10, 2018 You can get around some of the limitations by using a neutral density filter but that’s not going to let you freeze fast moving subjects.
FrancoisG Posted February 11, 2018 Share #9 Posted February 11, 2018 Priolite offers the ability for fast shutter speeds up to 1/8000th of a second with their strobes and Leica hot sync.
