Here is the progression after the peak. Time is in PST. All on M240. It is interesting to see changing light conditions.  5:11am Blood moon high up in the sky. Golden Gate pillars visible lower right. 28mm cron asph slightly cropped Welcome, dear visitor! There is huge time gap since previous pic because we (my and 10 other photographers) waited for the gate of a pier to be opened so that we can get to a suitable place. 90mm macro elmar M slightly cropped  6:49am. Fortunately a wisp of cloud came that made this photograph beautiful 180APO3.4 slightly cropped  6:57am. Due to morning light the bridge lights are less prominent. I realize now that bridge looks more beautiful with less day light. 180APO3.4 slightly cropped  7:02am. I switched to 90mm for few shots. First time I used LR classics HDR feature on bracketed shots and it worked OK. For earlier shots the DR was too much for automatic HDR to handle. I had to manually fix blownup lit part of the moon from 6 stops underexposed shot. 90mm macro elmar M slightly cropped  7:05am. Party over. 180APO3.4 Edited February 3, 2018 by jmahto
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!  6:27am after the peak. jmahto Posted February 4, 2018 Author Share #3  Posted February 4, 2018 Excellent processing Jayant. It's not easy to get texture on both sides of the moon under such extreme illumination.  ... Thanks. I had to do manual HDR with 6 (and more) stops underexposed shots to recover the highlights. It is surprising how eyes can see such a huge range. In general I loved shooting M240 on tripod with LV. It was so easy. I had enough time to enjoy the progression.
