Any last minute tips or ideas? ;) are appreciated!

Yes, go up the Stratosphere Tower and go on the ride that spins you out over the edge. Personally, I've never cared much for fairgrounds and rides but being dangled 1000 feet (300 metres) in the air over a Las Vegas car park (in what is not much more than a fancy chair) is a pretty memorable experience. Great views too of Vegas and the surrounding desert and mountains.

I did the vertical ride before this one was built, and my thoughts were just about the same...."here's some guy making minimum wage strapping me into an old kitchen chair..." US$12, I think 1 second into the ride I'd pay a lot more than that to get off. It was pretty intense up there.

I really liked the "New York" roller coaster (wait for the front row).

If you like landscape and the color red.

Valley Of Fire, Overton NV.

It's next thing to Mars.

30 min North of Las Vegas.

I-15 North from Vegas, Exit 75 (Valley Of Fire)

You may need an ND filter for the harsh sun so your snaps don't over saturate "like mine did".

$5 each car to get in.

Dinner!

An English Bar & Grille cool?

Triple George Grill .

201 N 3rd St

Las Vegas, NV 89101

Close to Golden Nugget and Lady Luck, Downtown Vegas.

Absolutely B&W 20's ambience for film or Digital.

I recomend the Prime Rib and Mashed Patato.

Also the Ice Berg Lettuce with Blu Cheese.

Valet parking is free.

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you ALL for your fast replies, on such short notice!

We will really try to make it to these spots!

It will fill up our day instead of gambling...

I will check in again tomorrow if there are anymore suggestions.

I hear that you CAN'T take photo's in the casinos...?

Since the MP is quiet and the 50 lux is fast, I thought I might try some hip-shots...

At least give it a shot;)

I am not good at guessing the right combo of

aperture&shutter speed for the available light,

so I think I will have to play around and just remember what I did.

I'll keep my toes crossed;)

Amado,

Don't ever thnk about it. =)

Security will politely ask you to leave the casino.

Bring some velvia if you want to visit the Valley of Fire.

Don't forget to bring some water, this is an all day event.

There's a store at the off-ramp (Moap Indian Territory so it's tax free).

They sell Buffalo Jerky.

Let the MP Rock!!!

But here's the M7 version. =)

How about a truly superb restaurant that is not stratospherically priced? This is from the "Quick tips - Restuarants" section of our site:

Rosemary’s (Sahara Avenue) – This excellent contemporary American is well off-the-beaten-strip. We really hate Las Vegas, but we really like this restaurant. Incredible value for a top notch meal in a lovely room. Better yet, we didn’t spot any slot machines on the premises. If you get tired of the tacky and glitzy, this is a welcome respite. The hairiest moment is when the chairs stop spinning and you are literally dangling for thirty seconds or so with nothing beneath the chair other than a 1000 feet of air and the ground below. I doubt there's a ride like it anywhere else in the world.

You can see it here (apparently it's only 900 feet above the ground!)

A couple more ideas--Hoover Dam, about 30 miles east of LV, is pretty amazing--would suggest going early in the a.m. before too many people arrive and it gets too hot.

Also, there is a neon sign "graveyard" up LV Blvd. It is managed by the Neon Sign Museum. You can pay to wander through it and get some really cool shots.

And last but absolutely not least--the Liberace Museum. A kitsch classic.
