tashley Posted July 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found that V1.1, when I finally managed the upgrade, was astonishingly slow (over a minute to zoom to loupe view, beachball of death when I tried to scroll the library, totally unusable and 100% CPU usage). I searched the Adobe forums and found that plenty of other people had the same problem on both Mac and PC. So I figured others hear might have had the problem too. After some fiddling about, I found that turning off 'automatically write changes into XMP' in catalog settings>metadata and then restarting Lightroom cures the problem completely. Sol: I believe you're correct. I recall hearing somewhere that Clarity is the equivalent of performing an LCE (Local Contrast Enhancement) on the image.
