Steve McGarrett Posted December 14, 2017 Share #1  Posted December 14, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello,  Before I start breaking or bending something, is the old 22228 R-to-M adapter (ie. the one that was originally made for Leicina super8 camera) compatible with M-adapter-L?  Thanks  S. jaapv Posted December 14, 2017 Share #3  Posted December 14, 2017 Yes, but it will require modification to mount more modern R lenses, specifically ROM lenses, but also a few others. The other problem is that the inner diameter is rather narrow (after all, it was designed for a 16 mm camera) and it will vignette on quite a few lenses. My Vario-Elmar is particularly bad. I would advise you to avoid these problems and buy the Novoflex adapter or even one of the better eBay offerings.

I've already have a Novoflex R-to-M, and works flawlessly, but since I also own the 22228, I was curious if it could be used as a backup (only for 3-cams lenses, of course) without any harm. jaapv Posted December 14, 2017 Share #5  Posted December 14, 2017 Well, in that case, you shouldn’t have a problem mounting it, unless one of the lugs is bent over the years. If you feel too much resistance, don’t. However, it will vignette.
dkCambridgeshire Posted December 16, 2017 Share #6  Posted December 16, 2017 Vignetting is very noticeable … only suitable for cropped sensor TL/CL and DMR.  dunk
