I actually got bored of that lens lol and came back searching more info about this lens and found my own thread. I should have purchased the Elmarit lol

LOL, why did you become bored with the Biogon? Really, I don't see a huge difference between the Biogon and Elmarit, apart from build quality and barrel design.

LOL. I would say combination of GAS & FOMO? That Biogon lens is the only black sheep in my lens collection and so it causes me a constant twitch. Anyway.. i still have it. I found other uses of the money i would have lost on depreciation. It’s comforting to know that Elmarit is sort of the same quality. Thanks for your note.

I have both the Biogon and Elmarit, and I can comfortably say that when I get the Biogon fixed, I'll use it just as much, probably more, than the Elmarit. The image quality difference is minimal, almost negligible to casual examination. If anything, I prefer the way the Biogon handles. The problem with Zeiss lenses is the possibility of mechanical issues; I have a number of Leica, Zeiss and Voigtlander lenses, and the Zeiss lenses all have mechanical issues of some nature, and only one of the Voigtlanders do (it's an old LTM version).
