Thanks for sharing these @shirubadanieru! Interesting how close they are. Did you shoot some photos in colours?

unfortunately not because I only had my Monochrom with me.

I did try another copy of the original with hazy glass, and there was a clear difference between that lens and the two above.

So more than remake VS original, the most important thing is to find an original copy with clean glass, if one were to choose the original over the remake that is. They were the same price here, so I prefer having the remake due to reliability

Thanks a lot @fil-m!  Really glad to know that you find them inspiring. My Thambar is glued to my camera for now.

First flowers of a wild Mirabelle Plum tree in my garden!

Blossomed a bit early for an exceptionally cold March, but still surviving :)

Shot almost wide open; tuned curves, contrast and saturation (etc) as "out of the box" Thambar files are quite flat ie low contrast, but with an appreciable margin for enhancements

Would use another body..

Shame they dont make it in M mount.

I think a mirrorless camera with live view boost, or whatever it’s called, would cater for focusing when stoped down. You’ve got me thinking about the Lensbaby Velvet with maybe a cheepo second hand Nikon Z to compliment.

Thanks for posting the videos.

Nice shots! I'm considering getting this lens..

But..

Has anyone done a direct comparison to the Lensbaby Velvet series?

Those may even look a bit better to my eye..and at $300 to $500-..

And come in 28mm/56mm/85mm.

Some pretty cool stuff is being done w/those..

Bumping so I can find it easily.

I've been using SF filters on my M lenses of late.

They look good and even the $10- one in 39mm does a good job.

I'm going to buy more soon to see what they can do.

They definitely tame the digital harshness.

SF meaning Skylight Filter? I thought the skylight had marginal influence on a digital sensor. May a Skylight with a dollop of Vaseline would help.
