Alternately ship it through your dealer. Don't go DIY. For one thing, it will cost money unnecessarily, and you will remain responsible. A sensor problem should be under guaranty. When my sensor became misaligned I contacted Andrea Frankl (phone then email andrea.frankl@leica-camera.com) of Leica Customer care at Wetzlar and she arranged for shipping by UPS under warranty.
