jdlaing Posted November 28, 2017 Share #21 Posted November 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just purchased from a third party so I don't think I will apply to me. I will ask the seller though. Thanks for the tip. Go to the Leica Members Area (https://us.leica-camera.com/Members-Area) and Product Registration. Enter the serial number and see if it was registered.
Advertisement Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Hi jdlaing, Take a look here Just bought my first ever Leica M8.2 - Now what lens should I buy?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pgk Posted November 28, 2017 Share #22 Posted November 28, 2017 Oh, my... It is trashed lens with damaged filter thread. Also this particular lens type doesn't bring 28 frame lines but 35. And it is not as easy as 40 Minolta Rokkor to modify. You need to add to the mount metal, not file it. I've used worse! If MW are selling it then it will work fine I'd say.
earleygallery Posted November 28, 2017 Share #23 Posted November 28, 2017 I would suggest a 35 f2.5 Skopar, either LTM or M mount versions (same optically). Well within your budget and you shouldn't have any issues with haze/separation etc, being a relatively new lens (or you could buy a new one if you can find it!). It's a lovely little lens, nice 'medium' contrast levels, as well as being very small and light. You really can't go wrong.
