Wonzo Posted January 3, 2018 Share #21 Posted January 3, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) The TV version of the 50/0.95 is optically identical to the rangefinder version. The difference is the rear element, which doesn't have the "cut-out". This "cut-out" is necessary for rangefinder coupling. Nothing to worry about, when it`s converted for the M camera. Wasn't the tv version used on Canon rangefinders also ? If i dont convert it to m will it work on the canon rangefinder? Kind regards

spydrxx Posted January 3, 2018 Share #24 Posted January 3, 2018 I had a TV version, which I had Ken Ruth convert to use on my M4. Before converting he asked me if it was OK to drill a small hole in the lens to insert a small rod to be used to push against the RF cam in the body. In the end, everything worked fine, but it was a real monster to carry around and I finally sold it. Wide open it was soft and "dreamy", closed down a stop or so it was quite sharp. epand56 Posted January 24, 2018 Share #27 Posted January 24, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Quite too soft, in my opinion. I would always think I missed the focus. It's a nice object, though.
Kevinfinity Posted February 20, 2018 Share #28 Posted February 20, 2018 I have three Canon 50mm f0.95 all converted into Leica M mount. All of them are fairly sharp. ldhrads Posted February 20, 2018 Share #30 Posted February 20, 2018 So what will you be doing, if you find another "Dream Lens" ? Sell the Nocti or keep both ? How would you describe the Nocti in comparison with the Canon lens ? Well, TBH I recently bought a Thambar-M and a SL-50 Summilux, so if any more glass creeps into my house, Mrs. LDH will have my head. That said, the Canon is definitely softer than the Noctilux 0.95 with a different bokeh signature, and no, I will not part with the 50/0.95!
thedirektor Posted October 20, 2020 Share #31 Posted October 20, 2020 Hello Dreamlens fans. I have one, with the original Canon 7 body, and I would love to have it adapted to M mount for my M262 and M7. I know this can be done in Japan, the USA and Germany but I feel nervous about shipping it. Does anyone know of someone in the U.K. who could do this ? I am in London. Many thanks.
