Love the small size of this Elcan 50mm f2 lens (from the military KE-7A set), although focus is a little stiff not sure if it’s supposed to be this way or needs some CLA love.

It’s the top most album on Wetzlar.com

Appreciate the feedback.

Would you tell us a bit about the Elcan 50mm f2 lens? I’m not familiar with it.

Just to start about... https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/ELCAN_f/2_50mm  (with discussions too)

I'd like to call it the "Elmacron"  :p : a 4 elements design like Elmar  (*) with the aperture of a Summicron... one of the rarest lenses in M history, and very appreciable for a collector/user (though there are "standard listed lenses" that were made in even less numbers)

(*) not same schema, of course...

Most Leica lenses start their career taking pictures of brickwalls

to show how amazing they are....... ;)

My opinion differ for "brickwalls Leica lenses" :p .

As long time Leica user, my brickwalls tests failed with Leica lenses (those from Classic Time, not asph. and co yet) : may it be field curvature ?

Equivalent lenses Canon, Zeiss and Nikon are much better for those flat field tests .
