Advertisement Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Hi ian748s, Take a look here UK Meet (South etc). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted July 27, 2007 Share #22 Posted July 27, 2007 We've been there before, but how about the Chandos at the Trafalgar Square end of St Martin's Lane? Good beer (Sam Smiths) and easy to find. The upstairs bar is quite convivial and they do food. Regards, Bill
earleygallery Posted July 27, 2007 Share #23 Posted July 27, 2007 I was going to suggest the Blackfriar - very photogenic interior! The Blackfriar, 174 Queen Victoria Street, Blackfriars EC4V 4EG
spylaw4 Posted July 28, 2007 Share #24 Posted July 28, 2007 Funnily enough - talking about it last night with friends The Blackfriar was suggested. Easy to get to being at the north end of Blackfriars Bridge, and as you say James a photogenic interior. I don't know how busy it gets on a Sat. lunchtime, but I'll check it out next Saturday (can't do it today) and let everyone know.
spylaw4 Posted August 4, 2007 Share #25 Posted August 4, 2007 Got to The Blackfriars today to check it out. Eminently suitable - but I suggest that at least some of us try to get there quite promptly as it was quite busy by 1pm. Serves the usual pub food. Outside area if it's warm and a couple of inside areas that are possible gathering points. So are we all on for 1 Sept? Say around noon or certainly no later than 12:30 to ensure we get a good seating point? Located just at the north end of Blackfriars bridge - District/Circle line (if it's not closed down for maintenance that weekend - check TfL website) or City Thameslink/Blackfriars main line stations. spylaw4 Posted August 12, 2007 Share #28 Posted August 12, 2007 Great Darrell - any more coming along - please!! BTW - the outside is now covered in scaffolding and plastic sheeting, but that shouldn't affect the beer!
bill Posted August 13, 2007 Share #29 Posted August 13, 2007 Right. My vote is the Blackfriar - far more photogenic than the ol' Chandos. I'm definitely up for it. Regards, Bill

spylaw4 Posted August 14, 2007 Share #33 Posted August 14, 2007 Blackfriar it is then? Hopfully we can secure an area in the 'snug' if we are there early enough. Fine - may I suggest 12 noon? That should be early enough to get into the 'snug'. Failiong that there is an area just inside the door on the left that would also do. See you all there! Oh - and the more the merrier! spylaw4 Posted August 26, 2007 Share #40 Posted August 26, 2007 Just a little heads up re transport next weekend. I see that the District and Circle line are going to be shut down next weekend, so Blackfriars Tube station will be a no-no. Nearest tube is St Pauls - about 10 min walk.
