Leica Q highest ISO

Very subjective question -- one answered differently by each photographer.

I've shot acceptable images at 50,000 but they absolutely have visible noise.  To be expected, but I got the shots!

I normally limit autoISO to 6,400, manually go above that when necessary.

Can't help you with Sony bodies.  Even with my Canon DSLRs I limit auto to 6400.  The 5Div is lovely above 12800. but the Q is my favorite above 28800.

To some extent, the maximum usable ISO will depend upon the noise reduction software that you use. They are not all equal. Most people seem to think that DxO's Prime NR engine is the best, and I heartily agree. It is almost miraculous how well it retains detail, contrast and color on images with very heavy noise.

Normally, I set the auto-ISO on my Q to a max of 6400, but I would not hesitate to use 12,500 if necessary.

What is highest usefull ISO value on Leica Q?

possibly enclose also some shot.

thanks for camparison to Sony Alpha A7II R or S

thanks

I always find this question amusing. Let's see: if it's a shot of the Loch Ness Monster, I'd say the useful ISO value is whatever it takes! I also have a 5DIV. The highest value on that is 12,000. It's a little better than the Q, so I keep my ISO on the Q to 6000, tops. I like the "grain" on the Q better at high ISOs than the 5D, although the 5DIV is smoother than the Q. See for yourself:
