fotografr Posted November 4, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) This spray can artist is putting the finishing touches on his graffiti on the side of a coffee house. The owners gave him permission and change the wall art every few months. MM/50 lux Welcome, dear visitor! gbealnz Posted November 4, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2017 I actually detest graffiti, but concede, this is VERY good, and to my mind is "Wall Art", some very skilled persons out there. Lovely shot Brent. Gary
erl Posted November 4, 2017 Share #3 Posted November 4, 2017 I totally agree with Gary. Here in the southern hemisphere we distinguish between graffiti and wall art. Your pic shows wall art at a high level. Those idiots that come after the artist and tag, simply to demonstrate "they were there", are objectionable. Our city of Melbourne, IMO, is the better for most of the street art, which actually draws tourists, which is a downside in some ways.
fotografr Posted November 4, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted November 4, 2017 Thanks Gary and Erl. I completely agree with you both. There is a lovely old bridge over the river just down the road from my house and it gets "tagged" regularly. Then the city crew shows up and paints over the graffiti, but not in quite the proper tones. What's left is a lot of patches in different shades of gray. The one pictured here is definitely wall art. fotografr Posted November 7, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted November 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, Robert. The guy is really very good. I just learned that this is the first time he's worked with spray cans. He normally paints with oils on canvas.
