I did few shots indoor and found the AWB inconsistency, when start shoot few shots, I realized the AWB changed the color temp to more warmish, and after couple more shots changed back to cooler color temp, I found this inconsistency happen from time to time. do you guys notice this ? or you use custom setting ?

I shoot on AWB and correct it in post processing. I find the SL AWB reasonably good (better than the M240, much better than the M9, but it can still get it wrong with mixed artificial light sources, or mixed daylight and artificial light. I haven't noticed it starting warm then changing to cool.

I find the AWB to be very very good.  It seldom needs to be corrected.  If you have several light sources that may be a problem.  Just do a gray card sample right there and you will be fine for that location.  And if you use Light Room the SL profile is there for color correction.

That is the critical part of the question ..... depends on the particular balance of daylight versus artificial light and the colour/reflectivity of the walls. The SL is better than many cameras I have used ...... but AUTO white balance is always an educated guess and often needs refining in post processing.

What lens are you using? If it is one that does not communicate aperture information to the camera (e.g. an M-mount or other non-native lens), then the WB with AWB will change when the aperture is changed. In those situations, it is best to select the appropriate WB manually.

As for correcting WB in post, it is not always possible to find a neutral color in a particular photo. That is why it is helpful, though not absolutely necessary, to get close to the correct WB in the camera.

I can confirm that the WB changes from time to time to a warmer tone without recognizable reasons. Re focusing helps. I have no idea why that happens...

It is not a question of lenses because it happens with the sl 24-90/2.8-4, sl 50/1.4, m 35/2 and also the m 75/2

Absolutely no differences.

Is it in fluorescent/LED lighting? With different colour temperature light fixtures in the location.

AWB calculates from the scene the sensor is recording. Change the scene, change the temperature... It is far better to use a fixed colour temperature, be it one of the presets, or the grey card. That will give you a consistent departure point in postprocessing.
