pico Posted August 14, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2017 I am fascinated as well. Until just several years ago we had a huge mill here in Winona, Minnesota (Winona Knitting). The expanse of machinery, the confusion (to me) of moving threads over hundreds of feet, the constant almost robotic management was impressing. It was a colossal factory, but every part of it was likely scaled-up from the industry you photographed. Thank you for showing the elemental in your rich-colored, attentive, detailed photos. This place is a Mennonite Eclectic Craft Village in nowhere Texas. They have classes for everything from furniture making, pottery, weaving, blacksmithing and the like. All by hand. It's a hoot to visit.
pico Posted August 14, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2017 Blacksmiths work I can get into. I treasure the very few blacksmith knives I have. Primitive, unassuming and downright useful.
